SUPPORTIVE SERVICES

The following services are conducted primarily in a community setting with children and adolescents to build skills and support positive socio-emotional development.

THERAPEUTIC RECREATION: Therapeutic Recreation services are an integral part of a child’s Individualized Education Plan. Services are designed to help families and children cope with behavioral, emotional and psychological issues while allowing the child to be able to access the curriculum. Therapeutic Recreation services are designed to include multiple disciplines in an effort to address the specific and unique challenges each participant faces. Skilled mental health professionals offer families and children tools to succeed within their least restrictive environment.

RECREATION MENTOR: The recreational mentor is a structured 1 to 1 relationship for the purpose of addressing emotional or behavioral needs in a recreational setting. It entails informal communication usually face to face for a set period of time between the mentor and mentee. During that time the mentor will work to get the mentee to get them involved in social and recreation activities in the community. They will also work on helping the mentee develop better social and communication skills as well as any other issues they may have.

CLINICAL MENTOR: The clinical mentor will work with the therapist to reinforce some of the goals that they are working on during the therapy sessions. Clinical mentors will also assist the client in the development of positive life/social skills, goal setting and attainment, conflict resolution, leadership skill development, and positive relationship development.  Clinical mentors are highly trained and clinically supervised. In addition the Clinical mentor will address maladaptive behaviors that are identified and with the assistance of the mental health practitioner develop an individual behavioral plan to reduce those behaviors.

EDUCATIONAL MENTOR: Educational mentoring refers to a structured 1 to 1 relationship with a client for the purpose of addressing identified needs in an educational setting. The Educational Mentor will work with the school to help the youth reach their educational goals, provide tutoring, and attend IEP meeting. In addition the Educational mentor works within the school setting and at home.

TUTOR: Tutoring is a structured 1 to 1 relationship for the purpose of assisting the client in their academic area of need. Our tutors work to build skills, habits and attitudes your child may need to succeed in school and in life. Our Tutors work exclusive within the home with the child on the subject areas identified by the school and/or parents.

COMMUNITY BASED TREATMENT (CBT): The CCMHS model of CBT is designed to function as an all inclusive resource for families, educators, and community agencies. The primary objective is to bolster children and adolescents with behavior and emotional challenges. Our mental health professional collaborate with families, schools, and agencies to formulate procedures that will allow children to learn and adapt in their most natural and least restrictive environment. In addition we assigned a interventionist to work with the child from 2 hours up to 24 hours a day. This program serves as a wrap around model with the interventionist guided by a mental health practitioner.

COMMUNITY BASED INTERVENTION (CBI): The CCMHS model of CBI is designed to function as an all inclusive resource for families, educators, and community agencies. The primary objective is to establish a foundation for family and children to learn to overcome inappropriate behaviors and emotional challenges. Our mental health professionals collaborate with families, schools, and agencies to formulate procedures that will allow the family to learn and adapt in their most natural and least restrictive environment. Our model utilizes a unique approach in which a team, comprised of a mental health practitioner and both a male and female interventionist provide support, guidance, structure, utilizing the family’s pre-established norms as a foundation for family unity and strength.
